The American Brown ale got its start when U.S. homebrewers were inspired by English style beers like brown ales and porters. With a rich roasted malt base that features characters of caramel and chocolate, this ale will have a medium intensity in both flavor and aroma. The hops will give off a low to medium flavor but a medium to high bitterness.
"Helles" meaning pale in color, this lager features a rounder, fuller body than traditional light lagers. It has a light sweetness to balance out the spiciness of the German hops and the slight bitterness giving it a more malty, crisp finish.
This old school double IPA packs a punch with a high abv but is balanced out by it's big malt backbone. It is excessively hopped with Columbus, Centennial, Chinook and Cascade giving it notes of citrus, pine, and floral with a pungent aroma. The name is a nod to our younger days of playing claw machines so we kept the style just as classic!
The name is inspired by a cigar factory that called Berlin, PA home in the early 1900's. This smooth black lager will have you thinking about camp fires and grilling or sitting beside a warm toasty fire thanks to its smoked beachwood malt.
Our Honey Lager presents a unique twist to the traditional lager. During flameout, we add a generous amount of honey made from the blossom of the buckwheat plant, to provide a slightly sweet finish.
This old school American Pale Ale has a touch a caramel malt for sweetness, munich malt for a toasted maltiness and classic cascade and crystal hops give it a pleasant citrus, floral and spicy hop flavor. Sure to please any pale ale lover.
This classic IPA features malts that give it a toasted, malty flavor with a golden color and touch of sweetness. The Amarillo, Chinook and Centennial hops shine through providing a heavy citrus flavor and aroma with tropical fruit, floral and piney notes.
We have some new puree samples and we just couldn't help thinking about summer days with these flavors! So we are creating a tropical beach party in a glass by adding them to our pilsner! A blend of passion fruit, pomegranate, pineapple, coconut and white peach make up this fun, fruity pilsner to make you dream of sunny days!
Brewed in honor of everyone we have lost, this coffee milk stout is meant to be a remembrance of our loved ones. Inspired by Mike’s late wife, Darcel, this traditional stout has the addition of milk sugar to add a touch of sweetness to balance out the bitterness of roasted coffee. With a smooth, creamy finish this combines a favorite morning beverage with a highly loved evening beverage to make it the perfect blend to use in toasting and honoring those who have passed.
Special collaboration brewed with Quinn Brewing Company from Irwin, PA made for Greensburg Craft Beer Week. This classic hefeweizen with flavors of banana and clove gets an unclassic twist with the addition of jackfruit, giving it notes of citrus, tropical fruit, mango and papaya. It is dry hopped with Mosaic hops to really bring out the tropical fruit and citrus flavors.
We took our classic light bodied cream ale with it’s smooth, silky mouthfeel and low hop bitterness and added another level of flavor! Brewed in honor of Somerset Trust Bank’s 130th Anniversary we wanted to keep it local and in true Somerset County style we used locally-made apple butter to give an added sweetness and caramelized apple flavor to this traditional style ale.
This pale ale is named after Robert Philson, who historians say raised a liberty pole at his log store in Berlin during the Whiskey Rebellion, to honor his fight against unfair taxation. Philson was a large part of the rebellion and also of our local government serving as an associate judge for Somerset County. A fitting tribute in light of the new Pennsylvania tax on craft beer!
Our red ale uses crystal malt and roasted barley to present a beautiful red color and tasting notes of caramel, toffee and roast. We've added oak spirals to give a little something extra for your taste buds. This combination makes it appealing to varying levels of craft beer drinkers with a classic style that is sure to please!
